Do you know what this unidentified circular object is?
It was found in the barnyard of a calf that we recently went and attended to. Here’s a closer look:
It is very important to make sure that your barn and barnyard stay clean and free of things that might cause potential hurt to your animals. It’s amazing what sort of dangerous items they can find, even in some of the most well-kept areas.
On a recent farm call, we attended to a calf that had stepped into this unknown object. The calf continued to grow, but the band did not. As a result, the circular band grew more and more tight around the calf’s leg.
To treat this problem, we cut and removed the circular band from the calf’s leg, and then treated the calf with antibiotics to eliminate the infection.
